Batting Dolls

1 Attachment(s)
I have just recently discovered these wonderful creations and have been fortunate in having a friend who was willing to show me how to make these Victorian Batting Dolls.

There is quite a history behind these dolls and they were used to decorate Christmas trees in Victorian times. They are made on a pipe cleaner armature and covered with scraps of left over cotton batting. the faces can be paper mache or a scrap face. Batting can be dyed as well.

So far I have just made two but am anxious to make more in time for Christmas.
