A beautiful story

For all you quilters, I have a wonderful story for you to read. I just finished a beautiful little book called The Quilt written by T. Davis Bunn. So perfect for us quilters, especially since I plan to make a quilt using wedding gowns for my great-grandkids to share. It took me about an hour start to finish. You might need some tissues! Hope you like it too.

I just finished this book last night. It was on my kindle, so I didn't realize how short it was. I was left wanting a lot more. It was a great read. I have made my grandchildren crazy quilts, using fabric, lace, ties and anything else I could get my hands on from their great-great GP and their GP and their parents. Hope they will treasure them as much as the little boy did.

good morning kyquiltlover1942. That's my birthyear too! We're the same age. I'm not sure you read the same book The Quilt that I was speaking of. Mine was by T. Davis Bunn and there wasn't a little boy in the one I read. It was about a grandmother who made a quilt as her last accomplishment on this earth. Very touching. Maybe there's another one called the quilt with a little boy in it. Who wrote the one you read? I might get it for my kindle also. Let me recommend mine to you also. Very nice story. Have a good day! btw, did you make washable quilts for your gkds from wedding gowns, etc.? I want to make one but am concerned about how to keep it clean using it for a baby. Any thoughts on that? I don't want them to have to dryclean it every time baby spits on it. Not sure if satin will work with frequent washing. Thanks for your input!
