I fell like I am starting to get sick. My throat is a little sore this morning. what are your remedies for a sore throat to hopefully to try stop it from progressing? I usually do the salt water rinse. I know to drink a lot of hot liquids. Is there other things youdo to prevent it?
My dh was sick last week and now it is my turn only I want to try and bit it in the behind before it bits me.

Salt water is my only trick my new favorite meds is the alka seltzer daytime cold does not make you sleepy and works wonders! I do hope you feel better quickly!

My sister takes a very hot bath or shower (bath preferred) and she swears by it. Hot as you can stand and stay in for about 20-30 minutes. Raising the heat of the body kicks the germs in the behind.

I've had great success with Zycam- you can get them at any drug store.
Hope you feel better !

When I was a waitress I used to give this to all the customers who were sick....hot tea with lemon and honey. The honey really seems to sooth your throat. Get better soon!

I start taking Zinc as it wards it off pretty quick. And Halls drops makes the itching stop so you don't keep our throat sore. YOu both get better soon. *H*U*G*S*

Zinc for me too. I like Cold Eeze because it tastes like candy :) I guess it pretty much is candy with zinc in it. Also for me, sleep as much as you possibly can. When I feel a cold coming, if I can get a long nap and then go to be early, that's often all my immune system needs to fight it. I don't this will cure you, but grape juice always soothes a sore throat for me.

Let us know how you're feeling!

I'm convinced the salt water gargles AND the hot tea with lemon and honey are both winners. The tea is comforting, soothing and sweet. Good enough to make me feel better at least temporarily!
