Book on Sun Bonnet Sue

I am making a baby quilt with Sun Bonnet Sue. They are asking for books for the baby instead of cards. I would love to find one on Sue, but it seems to be mostly pattern books and I got into one that was on the rather dark side. Does anyone have one (like golden book) and if so could you let me know the author and/or where I can buy one?

Have you tried Googling "sunbonnet sue story book" or some version of that? I found a book about Sue and Andy on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0913327115...oding=UTF8&me=

It's not in print anymore, but there are sellers who are selling it in like new condition, or of course new for a lot more.

Sorry I have never seen nor did I find one on google...BUT... I was wondering.... what pattern are you using for your quilt? Is it something that you could make a "book" from? Create a story to go along with it... you could print it out or you could have it done by one of those photo book companies that make a coffee table book from your photos?

I am not an author nor a pattern writer .. BUT.. I wonder what the copyright laws would be like or if it would even be feasible for someone to try to author a series of Sunbonnet Sue stories? I have only found history posts about this pattern, but nothing about the "actual" Sunbonnet Sue or her friends... living.... hmmmm.... anyone interested in taking up the challenge?

I found these three books on Amazon. I haven't seen them in person so don't know if they would do for what you want.

Love the idea the idea thimblebug had about a "coffee table" book. You could do Sue in different colors with objects of that color around her (ex. Red dress with apple, strawberry, etc.) You could get the pages laminated so it would last.

These three books look innocent - right? OMG These are the ones I had - a whole set. Author Jean Ray Laury and this takes Sue to a very promiscuous place. I started reading them to my GD (5 yrs old) and was so surprised!!! Closed the book and gave them away!!! At this point, I kind of like the idea of making my own book. I can't believe there isn't one out there that I can use. Thank you all for your searches and suggestions.

oh my goodness. why would some idiot do that. sorry. check your local library. perhaps if you find a nice book you can locate a seller somewhere as long as you have a title. Good luck.
