The butterfly mug...

Co-worker asked for a couple mug rugs and then I forgot all about it. I felt so bad and she wanted her monogram but just couldn't get it to look right. Set the project aside for a day and then went back to it. Insead of charging for two I just make one for her...no charge.

She likes pink and purprle so found floral fab. Did the butterfly out of dark purple and picked colors from the floral to appliq to the wings.

Brought it to work on Monday and she teared up. Why? No idea. Just thought she really liked it...wrong. She told me a story.

Her mom was very ill and dieing. Christine said, Mom when you are gone, how will I know when you are thinking of me. Her mom said, every time you see a butterfly, my dear.

I had no idea they had this discussion.

Devine intervention? I think so!

Thanks for passing your story on to us. We all need to be reminded that you never know how your "work" will affect others. Sometimes I "overthink" stuff and should just do what comes to my mind (in all matters). Everything you do will be appreciated by the recipient or their family. Remember, it's the thought that counts.... and give all you can in this world.
Hugs to you.

This is so touching. My mother always wore a butterfly pin on her left shoulder. Now that she is gone, the pin is stuck in the sun visor of my truck and I think of her when I get in the truck.
