CAUTION....Comic book boards could damage your fabric
I am helping a friend organize her sewing room. We discussed using comic book boards to wrap her fabric stash. Well just tonight I went online to find them and found out they are not completely acid-free. They are coated on one side only. The sites even suggest that comic book collectors replace the boards as the coating degrades over time.
I now will advise my friend to use the 100% acid-free sign boards. |
I'm so sorry to hear that. I just fold my fabrics over a ruler, then pull out the ruler and stack them.

For those folks who use these things. You are way to organized!:D My stuff gets folded any which way and is finished.

Same here. And I don't display my fabric on open shelves. Don't want to risk fading or dusty fabric.

And somedays I get really radical and actually USE THE FABRIC, SEW SOMETHING !

I don't understand the reason for 'Boards' to fold fabrics!? I fold my fabric toward the salvages till its about 5 wide then take the long strip and fold it til its about 8 or 10 in. put it in My color Labeled clear drawers! and have more $$$ for fabrics! lol
Not like I need More fabric!!! just a Addiction!! I should open a Store!! |
