I just spent the whole morning cleaning out my pantry. Saw a weavel & thought I better check. Sure enough there they were in the barley that was in a sealed bag so I chunked it. The plot thickens, checked all the meal & flours, they were fine. The Kaschi cereal had the most, a huge nest of them. I hate these little devils so much. Had to throw a brand new box of oatmeal that was in a sealed tight container I thought. So girls check now before they take over & ruin all your stuff. Groceries are too expensive to throw away. Fixin to go to Wally World & get some new canisters for some stuff. It seems the Tupperware I have had for 25 years doesn't work anymore.

Well at least you got them before they ended up on your plate. And now your cabinets will be clean and secure.

I realized that problem when I had moths fly out of the pantry. Nasty buggers.

This is a good time of the year to be checking! I have tossed some stuff recently as well! :?

That happened to me in a forgotten bag of birdseed in the back of a closet. No where near food thankfully, really had the bug guy thinking. Then we found the birdseed...Yuck!!! Dont they sound like something Dr. Suess would think up?

Had them Bad but can't seem to get rid of them. I have the pet food in sealed containers but occasionally still find them in things like macaroni and cheese. I have tried just about everything. I brought them home in a container of pecans from the store.

Try putting a 1 or more bay leaves in pasta, rice, flour, etc containers. I've had good luck doing that.

something i learned years ago when i sold tupperware. it's just about the best thing you can use to keep bugs out of your stuff ... but if what you put in already has bugs, it can't work. it will help to keep them from spreading to your other foods, though, which is better than nothing.

soooooo ... you have to check your foods for critters before you store them - not matter which brand you use. pasta is fairly easy to check. flour, sugar and similar things can be sifted before storage. dark colored things are a bit tougher to check, but it's worth the effort if you live in a "buggy" area.
