Chocolate Covered.....

2 Attachment(s)
Hubby and I apparently have too much time on our hands. Lately we have been making all kinds of chocolate covered goodies: peanutbutter truffles, chocolate chip cookie dough truffles, strawberries, pretzels.

Today my chocolate covered creation was Bacon!

For those saying ewwwww....I gotta tell you that it is quite tasty! I can see making a lot more of this!

Hubby's chocolate covered creation of the day was twinkies

I'm waiting til after dinner to try one of these, but they sure look good!

My daughter recently made Bacon Maple cupcakes for her son's football team dinner. They were a hit. Think pancakes, syrup and bacon.

OOOOOOO love that chocolate bacon! Twinkies look good, too.

My teeth itch just looking at those pictures. LOL

I like my bacon to lay on my plate, plain and crispy.
Twinkies should never be harmed like that.....lol

HummerGardenCrafts 09-22-2012 06:54 PM

Yummy!!!!!

MattieMae 09-22-2012 10:20 PM

Looks good to me. Please leave the white chocolate swirls off my batch of bacon, and I'd like extra sprinkles on my twinkies if you'd be so kind.

I think I'll go hunt for my old fondu pot.

OMG you are ruining my diet. Gaining weight just looking. I saw chocolate covered bacon on TV. It is on my list of things to do.

Stitchit123 09-23-2012 07:03 AM

choco-bacon is really good and I'm up for adoption to a good home with lots of chocolate creations : ) : )

My son would love this! He is almost 40 , eats healthy....till it comes to anything bacon! You have given me a Christmas idea!

nativetexan 09-23-2012 07:15 AM

Oh, still better than chocolate covered ants!

AlienQuilter 09-23-2012 07:19 AM

The most extreme thing I have eaten chocolate covered is pretzels. I know, not very adventurous!

Normally I make honey chipolte pecans and white chocolate popcorn at Christmas time to give away to all my friends, I am definately adding chocolate bacon to the list if Christmas goodies. Took that batch to a party that I was catering last night and it was a hit, everyone that tried it loved it. Making another batch right now because its so yummy!

Next on my list of things to dip in chocolate is potato chips :)

PurplePassion 09-24-2012 09:09 AM

I hope I am on your Christmas list.

IBQUILTIN 09-24-2012 02:12 PM

Tell me, did you take out some of the calories?

earthwalker 09-24-2012 03:24 PM

Well....can't say I've ever heard of chocolate covered bacon. I do however have a passion for dark chocolate...especially fresh strawberries dipped in dark chocolate.

Chuck2012 09-24-2012 04:58 PM

My family insists that I make Buckeyes several times a year. There always seems to be some extra chocolate left over, and then anything not nailed down is fair game. Bacon, Twinkies, Candied orange slices, marshmallows, graham crackers, peanut butter between some Ritz crackers, pretzels, and jelly beans. Chocolate seems to make everything better.

My SIL loves bacon. I bet he would try chocolate covered bacon. He travels all over the world and has eaten some weird things. He's up to trying most foods.
