I love to make decorations and I buy some too and every year I add to my collection even if it's from goodwill where I find some great bargains. We have two big (20 ft) blue spruce trees out back and it was too cold for me to get out there and decorate them this year but the heavens decorated them with the most beautiful snow so that was even better. I could just sit on my sun porch and enjoy the beauty of it all.

beautiful pictures of your home and the snow

sandybeach 01-05-2012 03:38 PM

Your decorations are wonderful. Glad I don't have to pack them up and put them away.

GmaBoogie 01-05-2012 03:39 PM

Love all your trees, I love mini's, I really like the kitchen wooden spoon one.

char634w 01-05-2012 03:42 PM

Thanks guys, I will share my lazy secret, I don't undecorate any of the little trees, I just zap a clear plastic bag over them and put them in the attic and each year all I have to do with them is remove the bag and put them out - Easy, Easy.

You really decorate. I like it but I am too lazy to do much anymore. Very pretty.

kandee 01-05-2012 04:40 PM

I love it!!!! I too decorate a lot.

I love the pictures of your beautiful home and of your view, like a real life Christmas card. My mother Helen Grafeld was big on decorating even after she turned 90 and still lived alone. I wish she were here to see your photos, she'd love how you've decorated. Your first photograph (table in windowed area, red & white placemats) is about as inviting a scene as I can recall seeing. Thanks for posting.

Really like your home that you have decorated. Gorgeous. love your sun porch.

Love your sun room. With that beautiful view that is where I would stay. I love the beautiful trees & the beautiful snow outside. I really like all of your trees & decorations. Thanks for sharing with us.

Quiltaddict 01-05-2012 07:38 PM

I love your view of the snow outside. Especially since it was 93 degrees here today.

jhoward 01-05-2012 07:45 PM

I can imagine sitting in the sun room and enjoying the view, inside and out.. Thank you for sharing...really looks like a room from a decorating mag.

I'm a place mat person, and that's the first thing I noticed in Picture #1 on the sun porch - not much sun there, but I loved them place mats. Gave me a wonderful idea. Thanks for sharing the pictures of your beautiful home.

thanks for the lovely tour. Just finished packing all of our dec......but you gave me some new ideas for next year!!!! Off to Goodwill to see what I can find.......Love that Christmas comes every year.....something to look forward to. Your placemats are cool......I have some tuille (sp?) now I know what to do with it....again, thanks for the ideas!!!!!! Happy New Year.........

kathyd 01-07-2012 07:53 AM

The pictures are great. Like others, my eye was caught by the placemats. Did you make those as well? We were out of town over Christmas so did very minimal decorating... one small tree in the living room and it is still up. Reminded me of my mother's decorating. She loved Christmas and the decorating. She was known as the Christmas Lady at the hospital she worked at because for nearly 30 years she was in charge of the decorating. She also had a tree in her basement that stayed up all year long, just got covered in a plastic bag! Happy New Year everyone!

I love the veiw from you windows! I'm from Wisconsin and normaly it would look just like that outside, but we've been having a mild year. I think we probally only had 2 inchs of snow this season, and most of it is all melted.

craftymatt2 01-07-2012 01:05 PM

WOW, very beautiful, you sure do have a lot of decorations, Is all that snow from this year?? I didn't think Mexico got snow, so goes for me retiring their. Anyway, thank you for sharing.

Highmtn 01-07-2012 02:45 PM

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 01-07-2012 05:43 PM

What an awesome view out of those gorgeous windows!! Your decorations are gorgeous too. Must take you forever to put up and take down.....

QUILTNMO 01-07-2012 06:24 PM

beautiful !!

manycorners 01-07-2012 06:57 PM

Beautiful pictures of your trees, both inside and out. I agree about Goodwill (or any other thrift store) being a great source for ornaments.

piepatch 01-08-2012 11:24 AM

What a beautiful scene out your window, and what lovely Christmas decorations!

sandyquiltz 01-08-2012 02:05 PM

Love your Christmas decorations. Your house looks so festive. I quit putting up a tree or doing much decorating several years ago (we don't have kids) and, in fact, gave away the tree and almost everything else early last year. Wouldn't you know it, my dear goddaughter announced in March that she was pregnant. Since they spend Christmas Day with us, I've got to start building up my Christmas decorations again and get tree so it will look Christmassy when the baby is older. But it will be a lot of fun now that there's a little one around again.

wallis 01-08-2012 02:09 PM

Magnifique je n'ai jamais eu le plaisir de voir d'aussi belles décorations chez moi

Yes, that snow is from this year. I love living in Albuquerque because we sometime get snow like that but then it is all gone in a day or two or perhaps sometimes it will last a week. I live 30 minutes from Albuquerque in the East Mountains so I am a little higher and get a little more snow than in town but I love it there. We have beautiful weather about 10 months of the year and just a month of really cold and a month of really hot but even that is not so bad. I especially love the "no humidity" after moving here from the South. I think that you would love retiring here and besides we have some great quilt shops !!!!
