What wonderful decorations. We haven't decorated in a few years. Our youngest Grandchild just turned 10. We have gone to Daugther and Son-in-law's as their Granddaughters, Mom & Dad have come the last two years.

Thanks for sharing Boom buddy! Very pretty.

Since you are taking requests (he he). I would love to see a closup of the folded quilts in the 2nd and 3rd pictures...especially the hexagon star one. :)

Thank you.

Wow!! I want to visit your home during the holidays. Can't decide which is my favorite.

Peckish 08-08-2012 05:45 PM

Is that tree in the living room in front of a door?!? You obviously don't use that door, lol. What do you do when someone rings the doorbell?

I have three doors, that is my front entry... When we bought the house, we ripped out the sidewalk and a bunch of ugly landscapping and put in all new sod, and we have not yet put a sidewalk in, our drive pulls right up to my wrap around side porch and the door to the kitchen, everyone uses it. And in the winter, the yard has snow and ice... so they use it even more. I haven't always put my tree there, some times it' next to the fireplace, and or over by the stair case. But, I like it there. Dh has warned me, when he pours the driveway and the walkway.. I won't be able to do that any more. :(

What makes it nice is that a BIG tree, and ALL of the presents (we have BIG Christmas) can go in there, and I still have my whole living room area for peoples.

Yosamitesa 08-08-2012 06:24 PM

WOW!!! Those are amazing. I even noticed that you change out the pictures on the walls too. You are one dedicated Christmas decorator. :D

The first one was hand pieced by my grandmother... And she used man flour sacks in it.

This one was hand pieced by my great grandmother, when I took it to the quilter, she said it was some of the best stitches she had seen in her life. It's 90X90

This one was also hand pieced by my great granmother. It's a "Grandmothers' Garden" pattern. It too is 90X90

SewExtremeSeams 08-09-2012 06:32 AM

Thank you for sharing. It is all so beautiful. Just curious, when do you start decorating?

Since I don't celebrate Halloween, I like to start near the end of October... slowly bringing decorations out.

Pink Lady 08-09-2012 07:40 AM

All I can say is WOW! need you to come my way.You have always wanted to come to Canada right:)

kandee 08-09-2012 07:44 AM

and I thought that I went overboard! I just love it.

Sewnique 08-09-2012 08:47 AM

I need to show this to my Ladies Circle Friends at church. I have a small, 10 room house that I put a tree in every room (some rooms get 2-3 trees, smaller ones). They usually come to my house for our December meeting after I have it all decorated. They think I am out of my gord for doing all that! I love it! And...it seems as you do too! It is so very pretty!

GrandmaNewt 08-09-2012 08:50 AM

Love your decorations! My cats would like it if we put that many trees in our house too! I don't really decorate the inside of our house for Christmas, just a tree and some stockings. The outside is another story tho. Our outside holiday pics are posted on our website http://www.twistedvegas.com

red-warrior 08-09-2012 11:16 AM

Thanks for sharing your wonderful decorations! I can not wait to show my hubby that there is someone like me who
likes to decorate their whole downstairs!

OH my.... that is wonderful. I like to do lots of lights outside, lighted garland on the porch, yard stuff (not as much as you do.. LOL) bushes, trees, and wreaths to.

I start about a week before Thanksgiving, getting it almost all done by then, and then, we go get the real tree and put it up. Upstairs, I have a walk in attic, and most of my trees, I put in there decorated, covered with bicycle bags and sheets. All my garlands and wreaths, hang on the walls. Many of my large display things go in there on shelves covered with plastic. So... that stuff comes out and sets up in a few days... then, I bust out the giant containers that holds the rest of it. I have a pic of my bedroom and bath somewhere... I need to hunt them up.

Storing it all gets to be a problem when you decorate extensively. We do the outdoor decorating real big for both Halloween and Christmas. At one point 3 rooms in our house were dedicated to storage rendering the rooms unusable. A year ago we bought a 45 foot semi trailer with the wheels cut off and had a crane set it in our back yard. With the addition of shelves down both sides, I finally have my guest room back along with a sewing room and one room in the house is still storage. It takes us 2 weeks to set up Christmas, the official lighting is always Thanksgiving day. Funny how it only takes 2 days to take it back down.

Yosamitesa 08-13-2012 05:21 AM

Completely stunning. Have you thought about writing one of the decorating magazines to do a piece on your home for the holidays???
