earlylace 12-16-2010 06:01 PM

so sorry for you loss, our pets are just like family!

lovingmama 12-16-2010 06:07 PM

Sorry for the loss of your pet, today someone else posted the loss of their pet too.

A different user posted this on her site. Which I thought was wonderful. I'll try to copy it, may be you like it too.

If it should be that I grow frail and weak, and pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done, for this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand, but don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest, your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years, you wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.

Take me to where to my needs they'll tend, only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me, until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree, it is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved, from pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you, who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years, don't let your heart hold any tears

I am so sorry to hear about your sweet Trinity. Being a pet owner myself, I know all too well, how painful it is to lose them. Take care of yourself and know that we are here for you.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your beloved pet. It is hard to lose one of our friends. I lost one of my Labs in September and we still miss her!!!

Cyn 12-16-2010 06:51 PM

I, too, am sorry to hear of your loss. I hope your memories give you warm fuzzies and comfort you knowing your baby was well loved and loved you back. Hugs

Not stupid furbabies passing hurt just as bad. So sorry for your loss.

theoldgraymare 12-16-2010 07:26 PM

It doesn't sound stupid at all. Months after I lost my old yellow lab, I found myself having to pull off the road to bawl when I saw a man selling yellow lab puppies. He was such a wonderful dog.

Thoughts and prayers to you. So sorry for your loss of Trinity. Sending big Hugs your way!

irishrose 12-16-2010 08:22 PM

I lost my heart dog five and half years ago. That's not to take anything away from the ones that have arrived since, but some are just extra special.

My caring thoughts are with you. A dog is not like a member of the family - he or she IS a member of the family.

quilt queen 2 12-16-2010 10:06 PM

So sorry for your loss like you our fur baby is part of the family and has been for almost 16 years and a very loved one also!

thseabreze 12-17-2010 03:31 AM

it doesn't sound stupid to me, nor to any pet lover. I have 2, and I would be lost without mine also. You are in my thoughts today.

rosalia856 12-17-2010 03:51 AM

I am so sorry for your loss. I use to think it's just a dog and they can be replaced. Until I got my Shit Zu,Abbey. I almost lost her on a trip to Texas. Never having an inside dog I didn't know that her excitment would cause her blood to become so thick that her heart was having to pump. $1500.00 dollars later she had plattelets transfused and she is still with us four years later. It took having Abbey to realize that they are family. Always there for comfort when things are not going well and wagging there tails when you come home from beig out. Never complains. So I know this will be difficult especially since it is around the hoildays. I'll keep you in prayer.Yes, God knows how we feel.

IT IS ALMOST AS HEART BREAKING TO LOSE YOUR PET AS IT IS TO LOSE YOUR CHILD. NOT AS MIND BREAKING, BUT JUST AS HEART BREAKING.

OmaForFour 12-17-2010 04:49 AM

She is not gone. She is waiting over the Rainbow Bridge for you. Someday she will come bounding across that green meadow and straight into your arms!
Love and Hugs! I have been there quite a few times.

Merry Christmas to you. I am so sorry about your beloved Trinity. I know you will miss her terribly. It's a hard thing to endure, losing a furkid. Love hurts. Again, I'm sorry.

Thoughts are with you... Sad to loose a good friend.

Sorry about losing your dog. I have a toy fox terrier that my husband bought for me for Valentines day 6 years ago this coming Feb. and I don't know what I would do without her. She turned 6 this past Nov and my husband is now gone and it sure would be lonesome without her. Her name is Mollie.

Just when I felt I couldn't go another day without my beloved Gentle Lakota - my companion of many years - I read an article in local paper about lost, abused, abandoned innocent souls. I adopted two (brother and sister) pups (they do not resemble my Lakota in the slightest). While they can't possibly replace him, they have won my heart and give me endless hours of love and joy. And they are in a loving home and not in a shelter or facing a worse fate.

pocoellie 12-17-2010 05:19 AM

My heartfelt sympathy to you for the loss of your dear Trinity. It's so hard to lose them.

So sorry for your lose. Know how hard it is. I lost my little Teddy last February and still miss him to this day. Check out the Rainbow Bridge poem, so comforting. I know he is waiting for me someday, along with my beloved Molly and all the other furry friends I have lost over the years. Have a blessed Christmas......................................... ..........

drdolly 12-17-2010 06:43 AM

I can feel your pain. I also had to put my beloved Dakota down this year due to cancer. We got him as a 6wk old pup. I will say a little prayer. We had our dog cremated and he is buried in my new flower bed dedicated to him.

My Cat's Belle 12-17-2010 08:09 AM

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. This is a loss that hurts like no other. The love we get from our pets is also like no other love; it is unconditional and never ending.

We have a pet who is terminal now, and I can hardly think of the time we will have to let her go.

I hope you can remember all of the special Christmases you had together.

My son had to put down their dog on Dec 7. Very sick and nothing the vet could do for Abby. We felt as bad as they did as we loved her too. It's hard to lose a pet. Hope you have a good holiday even tho you are mourning.

Thumbelina 12-17-2010 11:41 AM

My heart goes out to you. Will keep you in my thoughts.

My sympathy on losing your beloved pet. May all the happy memories give you comfort.

IBQLTN 12-17-2010 12:10 PM

You are not being silly. Dogs are the only animal IMHO that love us unconditionally (whether we deserve it or not)!

I had two dogs were my 'other' kids. I lost one on December 22nd one year. Fortunately, I had another at home but it was very difficult to make the choice to end the older one's suffering; but the vet agreed it was time.

I lost my mom December 23rd, 2005. She was in hospice care and said she 'didn't want to mess up Christmas' and insisted we not come to the hospice center Christmas day. She was determined the family would still have the 'family dinner' on Christmas. I think she passed when she did so she'd get 'her way'! We did get together as she had 'mandated'. It started out sad but we began to reminence of times past. We can choose to remember the good or dwell on the bad. I choose the good!

Remember your dear doggie's fun times and companionship. After my second little doggie passed away I only managed to stay pet-less for about 5 months. I love being greeted when I come home! Now my sweet Ash is only nine but has gone almost completely blind due to two pancreatic infections that left him with diabetes. But he still wants to chase his toys (we now buy ones that make animal sounds so when we throw it he can find it.) He gets his insulin twice a day and is a very happy camper! I cannot imagine my life with dogs!

I will keep you in my prayers. May your Christmas be blessed and your new year filled with wagging tails!

So sorry for your loss. Furbabies are family just as much as
anyone else and it really hurts when we lose one. I lost my
beloved Chablis in 2003 and I still miss him so much. Do
check out the Rainbow Bridge poem, it really helps. My
prayers go out to you.
