Thanks for sharing, you can never be too prepared.

When my son was in martial arts, his school instructors offered a basic women's defense class a couple times a year and talked openly and honestly with children about abduction and parking lot safety at the mall. Best of all, they emphasized the importance of looking out and caring about others. Thanks for the post.

The information is good, but how pitiful that this is what we are reduced to. It's back into the old lawless days out West. I never thought I'd see days like this.

Remember how quickly all this can happen. SEALS train, practice, train, drill to be ready and reacting quickly becomes second nature. Even those of us who are trained in some self-defense skills may not react at high speed. We are not in combat preparedness mode. Protecting loved ones with their own bodies was all the brave could do.

At times this nutter's back was to people. Anyone try to rush him from behind? A veteran may done but not many civilians. Even the heroes of Flight 93 had time to evaluate and plan their courageous action.

Thanks, Ditter. Just so sad that we need to live with such distrust and especially for our children, too.

Thanks for the article. There never has been a time in history that there hasn't been some bad element in society that will do harm to people. Frankly, I think we have too much news 24 hours a day. We don't need to know about a car/truck wreck hundreds of miles away from where we live. That goes for faraway murders, etc. The entertainment news magazine shows have these case histories day after day. When you consider all the channels, there are several of these each week. We have our children scared to go outside. Yes, there are some neighborhoods that are dangerous, but the vast majority are not. Enough is enough.

Pays to be aware, but no one could have ever been prepared for something like that.
