I've had several friends tell me the old adage about not knitting a sweater for a boyfriend b/c it curses the relationship.

Does that superstition apply to all crafts?

My husband (we're newlyweds) wants me to make him a nightshirt for Christmas. I know it's silly but I just wanted to check.

Wow! You brought back memories! I made a nightshirt for my (new at the time) husband and we lasted 35 years until he passed away. I think you'll be safe.

Go for it, besides you are already married! LOL

I'd never heard of this either so I checked wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweater_curse

But my mother has been knitting for my father for years (46 to be exact!) and they're still happily married! :D

Uh, my advice is to make sure you take all the pins out before he wears it and it should be just fine hahahhaha

The only superstition I ever remember is something about making a newly wed couple a Drunkard's Path quilt....
I think that making your DH night shirts, sweaters, quilts, etc...will only enhance your relationship :D :D :D

Never heard of it and I don't believe in curses anyway.
