Missysgottohelp 06-27-2011 08:04 PM

Oh this is beautiful! Wonderful job.

bjeriann 06-27-2011 08:07 PM

That is beautiful. Job very well done.

Ramona Byrd 06-27-2011 08:09 PM

That's a marvelous piece of work. And I agree, it should stay as it is, only waxed, but the Daddy's idea will most likely be what is done.
Light wood with white is classic, would look lovely in a baby's room with bright colors as accents.

Hosta 06-27-2011 08:12 PM

they love Hawaii so want to use that type of theme I told him I would make the curtains pillows extras in the Hawaii fabric the find they like so I am waiting for them to pick out fabric

blueangel 06-27-2011 08:12 PM

it is beautiful and I love this color as well...BUT how does one get the baby out of it? it appears the sides do not lower, nor can the bed tray be lifted higher....I am short with short arms, I could never get a tiny infant out of this bed!

ladyshuffler 06-27-2011 08:31 PM

My that is beautiful!!

ontheriver 06-27-2011 08:33 PM

NancyG 06-27-2011 09:26 PM

What a beautiful crib and what workmanship! I like the natural color.

Ramona Byrd 06-27-2011 09:34 PM

Just one minor, little bitty thing...have him measure the width between the bars in their widest stretch.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but there should not be any spaces larger than ...well, here is what the Internet says, among other things.........

Slats should be no more than 23/8" apart (about the width of a soda can).
Corner posts should not be higher than 1/16".

wanda lou 06-27-2011 09:35 PM

it's beautiful.

Amythyst02 06-27-2011 10:01 PM

That is a very beautiful crib. But I have to agree, when you are using such lovely wood, would be a shame to cover it up!!

magpiefeather 06-27-2011 10:06 PM

I'm amazed! That is excellent work...what a keepsake for your family!

Linda71 06-27-2011 10:09 PM

Excellent work

earthwalker 06-27-2011 10:45 PM

It's a beauty, what a lovely bed for a little one. Made me smile...my husband is a clever fella, works in metal and can build almost anything. Trouble is it always has that heavy industrial look....probably bombproof, but pretty, or fluid design....not a chance:)

Chasing Hawk 06-27-2011 11:03 PM

Beautiful work!!

quiltsRfun 06-27-2011 11:40 PM

He's done a beautiful job. I'm guessing you're in charge of the quilt to go in that crib.

Butterfli19 06-28-2011 01:39 AM

Such beautiful craftsmanship!

I agree with the light colors for a baby. Also, remember little ones after a while chew on things, especially when they start to stand up, so you may want to use that in your "stain or not to stain" debate, at least for now.

SueDor 06-28-2011 01:45 AM

Beuatiful crib, great work!

carolaug 06-28-2011 02:03 AM

Wow...that is so nice!!! I agree your husband is very talented!

Jennalyn 06-28-2011 02:38 AM

That is an amazingly beautiful piece of craftsmanship!

(Being 24, I'd personally prefer it stained darker as well... maybe it's a generational thing?)

emerald46 06-28-2011 02:50 AM

That is gorgeous and I love the natural color as well.

Yooper32 06-28-2011 03:24 AM

beautiful crib! interesting post for today as today is the first day that it is illegal to sell drop-side cribs, even at garage sales and CL.

dolores 06-28-2011 04:05 AM

Beautiful. Wish My husband was that talented

LovingIzabella 06-28-2011 04:09 AM

Absolutely beautiful! And I agree with the light wood-classic and beautiful...dark stain on wood I think is too much (especially for a baby)...kind of depressing :-(

QuiltMom2 06-28-2011 04:34 AM

That's nice woodworking!

piepatch 06-28-2011 04:36 AM

What a beautifully crafted crib! Your husband has created a work of art that will be passed down through generations and become an heirloom. I don't think I have seen a more beautiful crib, and it is even more special because Grandpa made it!
