for our forthcoming first grandchild. next he is making a changing table. my son wants it stained dark but I like it this color

Oh this is beautiful! Wonderful job.
That is beautiful. Job very well done.
That's a marvelous piece of work. And I agree, it should stay as it is, only waxed, but the Daddy's idea will most likely be what is done.
Light wood with white is classic, would look lovely in a baby's room with bright colors as accents. |
they love Hawaii so want to use that type of theme I told him I would make the curtains pillows extras in the Hawaii fabric the find they like so I am waiting for them to pick out fabric
Wonderful job.
This is gorgeous and a wonderful family treasure. I like it in the light wood as well (smile). So beautiful - talented husband. Thank you for sharing.

its beautiful! how lucky your son is to have a handmade heirloom made for him!
That is absolutely gorgeous! Your husband is very, very talented!
What a beautiful crib and what workmanship! I like the natural color.
Just one minor, little bitty thing...have him measure the width between the bars in their widest stretch.
I don't want to rain on your parade, but there should not be any spaces larger than ...well, here is what the Internet says, among other things......... Slats should be no more than 23/8" apart (about the width of a soda can). Corner posts should not be higher than 1/16". . |
it's beautiful.
That is a very beautiful crib. But I have to agree, when you are using such lovely wood, would be a shame to cover it up!!
I'm amazed! That is excellent work...what a keepsake for your family!
Excellent work
It's a beauty, what a lovely bed for a little one. Made me smile...my husband is a clever fella, works in metal and can build almost anything. Trouble is it always has that heavy industrial look....probably bombproof, but pretty, or fluid design....not a chance:)
Beautiful work!!
He's done a beautiful job. I'm guessing you're in charge of the quilt to go in that crib.
Such beautiful craftsmanship!
I agree with the light colors for a baby. Also, remember little ones after a while chew on things, especially when they start to stand up, so you may want to use that in your "stain or not to stain" debate, at least for now. |
Beuatiful crib, great work!
Wow...that is so nice!!! I agree your husband is very talented!
That is an amazingly beautiful piece of craftsmanship!
(Being 24, I'd personally prefer it stained darker as well... maybe it's a generational thing?) |
That is gorgeous and I love the natural color as well.
WOW! That is super-craftsmanship. He is quite the woodworker. Beautiful crib.

Absolutely beautiful! And I agree with the light wood-classic and beautiful...dark stain on wood I think is too much (especially for a baby)...kind of depressing :-(
Hugs April |
That's nice woodworking!
What a beautifully crafted crib! Your husband has created a work of art that will be passed down through generations and become an heirloom. I don't think I have seen a more beautiful crib, and it is even more special because Grandpa made it!
