Instead of signing a book, picture, or t shirt, at the reception, how about a wall hanging, runner or quilt blocks? Any ideas from someone that has done this.

I made siggy blocks had freezer paper on the back and 2 permapens . placed the blocks in a basket and had a basket for the signed ones to go in...it was on a table next to the wedding book. Worked out fine. a few people we had to catch at the reception.......

I have done both a wall hanging and a quilt with siggies at the reception. Was fun.

I made a throw sized quilt for my DD2's graduation. I sent it to school with her the last few days with a Pigma permanent marker and she had all her classmates sign it. We also had it laid out at her graduation party so all the guests and family members could sign it. She uses it as a wall hanging and truly loves it.

Lovely!
Friends had a canvas up at their wedding and each person was given a printed square - with co-ordinates - and invited to go and paint that square on the canvas ... I gulped at the thought of all of the wedding guests in their finery handling paint (especially as I was wearing a cream jacket!) but it was very popular and the final picture, which turned out to be a picture of the couple, is gorgeous. I think your idea of the blocks to sign is a much 'safer' one - to allow creativity and yet not to risk so much mess! Signature blocks are a great great idea as people can include a favourite quote or a wish for their future together .... Helen |
thanks for the wonderful ideas,I can't wait to present the idea to DD
