Do you make your own potholders?

I have been making some John Deere potholders.

yes, I have a lot of stray blocks that I make up into potholders when the mood strikes me. Some of the smaller blocks need a border added to make them a usable size. They are great for practicing with new stitches or FMQ.
I get the batting with the shiny heat proof lining.. can't think of the name right now. And I use at least two layers of in the pot holder.. one layer is NOT good. Trust me on that!

funny you should ask that..just today i bought some material and insulbrite to make some as my potholders are falling apart...

I make my own potholders, but mine are the cotton loops put on the square loom frame and weaved together and then the loops, looped together.....been doing these since I was a little girl. That's a long time ago!

Yes, I make potholders for me and most of my family, I also knit my dishclothes which every one likes.

Could you show us these John Deere potholders? My dad retired from JD but now that he is gone, I try and do alot of things with JD in them. Thanks

Charlie, I loved making those potholders when I was a little girl! I'm sure I'd enjoy it now.

I made a few potholders last year for gifts, but haven't made any for myself (usually the case!) I'd like to, though!

I'd really like to make a couple of mitts first. My storebought ones leave lint on my fingers every time I use them and it's a pain.

Yes, I make my own potholders. Everytime my two married daughters come they ask for them, so it keeps me busy having them on hand. I use scraps and fill them with old sweatshirt material, several layers. Old towels work well too. Very easy, and inexpensive to make.

Yes I do! I try new blocks before I decide if I want to make a quilt.
