It's time to think about planting. I have never had the patience to plant and grow my own bedding plants. I know that I would most likely let them dry out. And how on earth do you know when to plant, to make them the right size at the right time to plant outdoors?

I have never even liked house plants. I see so many that are covered in dust and cob webs, stupid containers like cool whip or other food, and they seems too cluttery.

BUT, last summer we "stole" an apricot that was huge, mellow, and fantastic. I got some pits, looked on e-how, and cracked them and kept them in the frig in potting soil all winter. Now I have them potted and they are growing little trees in crazy fashioni! I hate them on the window sill, but can see that it's just a step of the progress. Any body want a start?

So I'm the kind that rely's on the greenhouse to get my 'maters ready for me!

They are happy little trees. I have 7 of them that are growing this well.

Wow - all that in just two weeks! You must have a green thumb - I think you need a garden. lol!
I haven't started seeds in years, but I'm thinking of doing it again this year. Do you know when your last average frost date is? If not, you can look it up online. Ours is mid-May, so I'll probably start them in March sometime. I'm sure there are others that have more experience with this and can give you a more specific time.... It is fun though - and way cheaper than buying the plants.

Great job on the seeds I've heard they are hard to start that way. I plant some veggies from seed and others as plants. I do square foot gardening .... come on Spring!! :-)

I don't do well starting mine from seeds. I have to buy plants. My kids say I have a brown thumb. :lol: :lol: :lol:

I do start tomatoes. Best if you have a grow light....my house doesnt get enough light in the Winter. Love your little trees!

One corner of my dining room is grow lights and seedlings! We are in the process of building a greenhouse and I hope I can soon move them all out there!
I start from seed because I can get so much more for my dollars. I can get a whole package of seed for what one started seed would cost!
I have two kinds of heirloom tomatoes you would never find in plants. I plan to can a lot of tomatoes and other vegetables this year.
Your little trees look great! If I was close I would love to have one if they would grow here! :thumbup:
