Sadly Serbia just made a goal so your boys will have to run a bit harder.........
But they are by far the nicest team to look at at the beginning of each match! The way the hold each others shoulder with the left hand, holding the right hand to their hearts and singing the national anthem - it just gives me the goosebumps ever time

will keep my fingers crossed

Granny, you will quickly find out that soccer is not a big sport in hte USA. Just the way we are.

Soccer is getting bigger here. Most of the kids play around here now, where they didn't in the past. I didn't know anyone here who watched the game on tv until the last few years. I think its growing on us!

soccer, soccer - that's the sport where guys in shorts run around on a field kicking a ball, right? ;)

I don't follow the sport, but some of those guys sure are cute.

granny_59 06-18-2010 06:43 AM

yeah....our speaker just said that you had the biggest number of viewer for a soccer game during the first match: 14 million. How many million americans are out there?

häääääääää, serbia just scored again

granny_59 06-18-2010 06:54 AM

glad we dont have any timedifferenz to south africa - did you see the swiss team beating Spain!!!!????

And your boys are playing against Slowenia not Serbia, sorry. Serbia just BEAT GERMANY!
And yes, there is a lot less clothing involved compared to football and at the end of the game they switch their shirts.....

No, but apparently the senior VP and a bunch of people are watching in a conference room - a whole lot of shouting went on and I had to go see what all the hubbub was about. The director of HR was in there, too, not looking too pleased, but he can't tell the VP what to do

(and I don't feel one bit guilty about being here right now on the board :-P :P )

I am very sad! They are my number one team to root for :'(
