The bride would probably not even remember the date of the shower, other things, yes, but not the date. So I wouldn't bother with that.

As others have said, a decorative bowl at the exit door would work just fine, or you could do a pretty display on the refreshment table or buffet.

Thanks everyone! Wow, what a great group you are. Allways there to help.

I am making cookies that are hearts and have the couples intials in the middle. I was going to put them in a little plastic bag and put them in the favor bag. I was thinking of putting the couples names on a little tag with a date to close the bag. And didn't know if it should be the shower date or the wedding date.

No, people don't stand, we sit and play games and have cake. I am just not serving a meal, I don't have a house big enough.

I like the idea of putting them in a basket by the door. Thank you for all your help ladies.

I was thinking you were making cloth bags - if you are decorating cookies or a plastic bag, the date of the shower would be fine.

i printed out the date on clear sticky labels on my computer. used a fancy font.. then put them on little tags, the tags were about an inch in length.

(you can get them at any office supply store, they come in different sizes/amount and shapes)

i took off the yucky string that came on them, and used a pretty colored hand EMB thread..

Just a word of caution if you decide to leave the favors in a basket for the women to take as they leave. I've had it happen to me more than once where people were supposed to take favors, but just didn't notice them or didn't notice the sign directing them to take them. Then I got left with a whole bunch of untaken favors. If you have people helping you host, it might be good for that to be someone's responsibility to "push the favors."

Just make sure the people take them! And have fun with your shower :)

As the guests leave the Bride should be the last one that speaks to them, thanking them for coming, etc. - recommend that you have them near her and have her distribute as guests come to say thier good byes to her. As the hostess for the shower you should stick close to the bride and you can hand them to her for her to give out as people leave.

that way, you aren't left with a bunch and everyone has the opportunity to speak with the guest of honor. Odds are that people will leave in cluster groups - if you and the bride are near the doorway you'll get many of them taken care of at the same time.

I've done tea parties for friends. I give party favors - last year it was home-made Chai Tea in clear bags w/ recipe tied w/ ribbon at top of bag. I place the favors in a large basket & remind guests to take one as they leave. I like to greet them @ door as they arrive, & be at door as they leave as well, so often hand favor to them at that time.

Sounds like it will be a nice gesture, with or without date on the bag.
