What a beautifully delightful way to minister to a sick little girl!

burchquilts 06-26-2012 09:11 AM

What a wonderful dolly! You are an angel to do this work! I'll keep Kensley in my heart...

burchquilts 06-26-2012 09:15 AM

You are such a wonderful person to make these beautiful dolls. I know they bring much joy & comfort to the little ones who get them.

Neesie 06-26-2012 09:23 AM

Those big dolls are so cute!!! What a blessing, you are!

wordpaintervs 06-26-2012 10:50 AM

fee's are going up. It cost a few cents short of $25 to mail the package fed-ex. No problem right now as I still have a little bit in the non-profit checking account, but another 3 or 4 and I might have to check with organizations that help with this kind of thing, and see if they will donate shipping costs. If not, we will ....as always ...somehow manage.

I made a mistake saying North Virginia. Kinsley lives in West Virginia. The doll will be there in 4 business days from this evening when the truck comes to pick up new stuff.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the doll. It is the only quilted one I've done. I hope down the road to do another just like it.

Thank you everyone.

Thanks Vickey for sending the doll. I know Kinsley will love it and find lots of joy and comfort in having her new doll with her during her treatments. Thanks again and May God Bless You for all that you are doing for these sick children.

wordpaintervs 06-26-2012 01:04 PM

Thanks so much for the reply to this posting. I pray Kinsley will find lots of love and comfort in the arms of her doll. I sent the birth certificate. Please ask them to put doll 109 in the number slot and her name (Kinsley ) as the mother, and whatever she names her doll in dolls name spot. The date of birth will be the day she first holds her doll in her arms. God Bless all.

Is it two dolls or is it a Topsy-tervy doll

mountain deb 06-27-2012 04:36 AM

Thank you for sharing in more ways than one.

terri123 06-27-2012 05:36 AM

Hi Wordpaintervs
I might be able to help you with some of the lace involved in the dressmaking for the dolls.
Please post and let me know if you could use that kind of help. I'm also in No.Calif.
The dolls are beautiful! Terri123

I always need wide ribbon for decorating the skirts when it is available. It takes 4 yards of narrow ribbon (1 yd minimum of each of 4 colors for waist line ties, so that is 8 yards per doll. I try to make them as pretty or the kids as I possibly can

wordpaintervs 06-27-2012 07:02 PM

Thanks so much for all those precious replies. They are all appreciated. For those who might not know, these dolls are mainly for kids 2 to 8 who suffer from devestating medical conditions. Both doll and mailing are free. If the doll goes to either Del Norte county or Humboldt county in California, and meant for a child with cancer, the ACS will mail it for me.

Thanks 98% or thereabouts of the dolls end up with a child with cancer.

I will tell you that this doll would make an 81 year old woman very happy, too. Did anyone of us not smile when we saw her? What a beauty!

terri123 06-28-2012 07:15 AM

Thanks for the addy, WordPainter. I will see what lace and ribbon I have that might be of
help for you. I used to own a fabric store and I may have some left overs you could use.

Sewfine 06-28-2012 07:15 AM

Both are beautiful dolls. You are such a wonderful person to give to the sick children. She will love it and it will bring a smile to for precious little face. I will keep Kinsley and her family in my prayers. I really like the fabric on the first one.

Shocked Quilter 06-28-2012 08:34 AM

Vickey, the girl doll is beautiful and I know it will make the little girl happy. The boy doll you made my brother's great grandson that you made for him has brought him many smiles. He is really enjoying it. You are doing a great ministry for sick and hurting children. God bless you for your caring and sharing your dolls. It is good to see you and the sweet doll. Thanks again for all that you do.

matraina 06-28-2012 09:48 AM

They are both beautiful. How kind of you. I'm sure it will make her day!

Scakes 06-28-2012 11:19 AM

Another great doll! Thanks for sharing.

wordpaintervs 06-28-2012 02:33 PM

thanks to all of you who have taken time to reply to me, and those others who are able to help. I always am glad to hear that the child that gets the doll loves it. That is all i can ask for. Hugs go all.

kmprshnin 06-28-2012 06:43 PM

I sure will pray for her. My grandson had that type of cancer when he was 18 months old along with testicular cancer. He is now 12 years old and very active and cancer free. It is a scary thing.
