Yikes !! Anyone gone through this ? How was it ????? Thank you
|
Nope, but a friend of ours had it done and he can see to drive at night now! Eyes were bruised a little, but all in all he did just fine.
|
My mom did no problems!
|
Isn't it something that has to be re-done every few years?
|
My aunt had this done and good thing she did. She had to go through a series of tests and found a shadow on her lung. Found out that it had to be removed and good thing they did. They removed her lower left lobe of the lung and she quit smoking the day they found the shadow . She is doing much better and went on the have her lids done and is doing fine now.
Just imagine if she didnt go for the testing. |
I had my upper eyelids done about 7 years ago. They were so bad the insurance paid. It was very easy. I kept ice packs on (frozen peas) for longer than the dr. recommended, (2 days instead of 1) and slept sort of sitting up for a few days and I didn't bruise at all. The dr. was amazed. He said everyone bruised. I said I was determined not to. The only annoying thing was the ointment to put on the stitches blurred my vision for a little while after I put it on, but I had recorded books to listen to. I still don't need it done again.

My SIL had her eyelids done about three years ago. It made her look ten years younger! She had a little bruising, but no real problems and they still look great

I remember when Helen Kelley (columnist in Quilter's Newsletter, now deceased) had it done - she remarked on how much better she could see after the surgery!
|
my Sister did it at age 40. her hubby said she could do that or get a swimming pool.
I've not done it myself but would love to. she did well from what she told me. |
I had it done a few years ago. I looked like I had been beat up pretty bad. I was black and blue for a few weeks. I still have the pics.
|
My Grandpa had it done. His eyes looked red and irritated for a day or so, but he didn't complain of much pain. It really helped him be able to see. One of his lids just didn't stay up anymore.

Thanks everyone ! I have to have them done too as they are affecting my line of vision. Interesting , when testing for insurance they taped up the loose part on each eye and i was sooooo amazed at how much more I could see !!!!! Excited but ......watched utube videos of the surgery , want them to use some sedation now. ( maybe should not have watched ) too late now though ! LOL ? thanks again will look forward to how much better I'll be seeing . Hey could help my quilting ?????

I did years ago and it was a breeze. Only slight pain and it healed very quickly.
|
Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

Yes, I had eyelid surgery several years ago, in my early 50's, because I had dropping eyelids and my eyes were constantly tired. My insurance wouldn't cover it, it was considered "cosmetic". I didn't care, I just wanted some relief.
My opthamologist did it and she did a fabulous job. It was very easy surgery, outpatient, very little pain, I stayed home only one day and really didn't need to. When I went to work everyone thought the stitches were black eyeliner. I thought it was a breeze and I'm soooooo glad I did it! |
My daughter convinced me to put this on hold til I see someone who is board certified and will show me their work before and after pics and give me names and phone numbers of references. so.........it's all on hold for now. Thank you everyone , I do intend to find a board cert. surgeon will let you all know.
