I remember those plastic bowl covers with the elastic around the edges (before Tupperware became popular)

Cute idea but I don't think it would keep food fresh and from drying out. Could be wrong.

You could sew some plastic on the back of the fabric so the food wouldn't dry out or get spoiled.

What would happend if you put a piece of lt wt vinyl on top (or bottom) before attaching the binding? Food would have some moisture protection then--hmmm I like the little plastic covers-hadn't seen some in a while, but picked up some at Alco in the $1 bin.

Good ideas! Might be something I will try...if I get around to it. LOL. So much stuff on my plate, and so many new things to try.
