I just bought two small fairy lamps. they take candles. anyone know what type of candles? those small fat ones about two inches tall or the tea lights in metal?

you can use the tea light or the short fat ones. i would just make sure the short ones are in the little glasses. my mom has tons. yours is very pretty.

either one should work

I would use the tea lights...no melted wax to clean after burning...Naomi

I got these at a huge flea market/antique store. six dollars each! they are a present for a friend. one has some wax in it already. the short candles are easier to find than tea lights but i wondered. so the short ones should be put inside a glass holder first if used??

They make LED tea lites. I had ordered some online a few years ago. But I saw some at our Mills Fleet Farm store , by the Christmas lites. That way you don't have to worry about the wx or a fire.

If you use the small votive candles in those, like others suggest I would put them in small glass votive holders. You won't really see them when in use because the pattern of the glass will hide them and they will protect the outside glass. If you lightly spray the inside of the votive holder before putting the votive in, it will make the melted candle easier to remove later. You can also soak the votive holder in hot water to loosen the candle when it is time to change it.
The new LED lights are cool to, some even have the flickering effect. |
I have several Fenton ones and they recommend tea lights

I just saw battery operated tea lights but they seem like they wouldnt' show much light. but also saw the short fat ones battery operated. they might give better light. I may look for them when i'm ready to get the lamps mailed.
thanks all. |
