Thank you for your concern.

We evacuated when ash started to fall on our house. High winds carried it to our location, even though flames never got any closer than 2-3 miles.

We were out 3 days before authorities allowed us to return home and everything was safe. Lumpy, our barn cat, was happy to see us. She had been nowhere to be found when we evac'd, so all we could do was leave a bucket of water out for her.

The Governor declared a disaster which released funds and other resources. The fire burned for abt 3 weeks before it was fully contained.

Now that the monsoons have arrived, we are experiencing isolated flash floods in the canyons and valley floors. That is to be expected, due to loss of vegetation. Aerial reseeding should start soon.

Thankfully, there was no loss of life and only a few minor injuries. I have never seen this community come together like it did during this crisis.

Thank you for responding. So glad to hear everyone is okay including your precious Lumpy. Hopefully the flooding will not be too bad. Best of luck to you.
