Does this even mean anything to you? I will take the time to give thanks to all of our Veterans on this board who have served our glorious nation, so that we are free to write as openly as we do with out fear of repercussion or prosecution. Today I thanked a young man in the reserves who was sitting along side me at the bus stop.

I am one damn proud American, and I hope you are too. Today is also the day to take your weather beaten flags to you nearest VFW or American Legion so that the will be properly disposed of.

Today means a lot to me. My Dad died on June 14 and was a WW2 veteran, as was my uncle who was born on this day.
Personally it's hard for me but also a very special day for our country. I'm so proud of my Dad, uncle, and everyone who's served our country :)

Red White and Blue down to the core! Thanks for this post. Most importantly thanks to all who have and are still serving.

Susan; I did not mean for this to make you feel bad. It would hurt my heart if this reminder did.

Oh no, I don't feel bad at all. It's bittersweet really. I always have trouble in the days preceding the anniversary but I'm actually glad it's on a wonderful day, Flag day :)
He is always in my heart and was the best Dad I could have wanted :)
Thanks, Sue
