I can't get the spell check to work on my computer. Yes, it is underlined in red. And I right click on it and up pops a box and I click on "check spelling", but it doesn't do anything. Help!

Jeanne - you should see the correct spelling of the word at the very top of that box. All you have to do is click on it. I'd post a picture of it, but my screencaps are way too big.

Here, try it on this word. jelous

Click "reply with quote", which should activate your spellcheck. Right click on the word with your mouse, and it should pop up with a box, very first word in the box should be "jealous".

Hope this works for you!

p.s. Make sure you turn your spell check back on. When you click "check spelling", that turns it on and off.

Well at least I am not the only one. I also use to be the one people asked how something was spelled. Now sometimes I can't spell the simplest words. Very annoying.

I am so glad I opened up this post. Never too old to learn a new trick.

Maybe everyone already know this, but someone might not and this might help. When I'm here on the board typing and it shows that I'm spelling a word incorrectly, I open a new page and go to "Google" and type the word in "Google" the way I am spelling it and it pops up correctly. I copy it and then come back to the Board and paste it in my post and finish my sentence. It's so nice and easy and I don't feel quite so ignorant. Hope this helps someone.

I have started doing this too. Helps a lot.

thanks, good idea. my google email doesn't have spell check anymore. only available if I download something./ and i hate "fonetic " spelling..... names, words, etc.

Hahahah, I have often wondered why those zig zag little red lines would appear under words that I type. I am normally a good speller too (grade school spelling champ), but sometimes my fingers outrun my thought processes and I'll get a typo, and that's when I see those little red lines and realize that I've made a boo boo.....
