My husband and I are going to the Olympics and we are leaving on Feb. 7. We will be staying with my sister in law and her husband until Mar. 4. We will be right in the heart of Vancouver. In the Kitsilano area, within walking distance to Grandville (Granville?) Island and even a hearty walk to the downtown. How lucky is this?
Lots of time to explore some quilt shops in Vancouver. Anyone know of some places to find quilting fabric and supplies?

Lucky you!!!! Have a wonderful time & come back & tell us all about it! We went to the Atlanta Olympics & had a ball. We live so close that we went each day to something. I will be sitting by the TV working a hand quilting my batik quilt....not a bad gig either ;-)

You will be staying right by my brother's place. If you find good quilt shops, please post them so I can check them out, too. I'm going to be staying right next to Stanley Park then and am more excited about seeing the quilt of belonging than anything else! No quilt shops to tell you about, but here is a link to an article about quilt shop hopping in Vancouver.

Have a wonderful time! I hope you get a little fabric shopping in between sporting events.

Think this is the only quilt shop in Vancouver now.

Some of us shop in Fabricana on United Boulevard in Coquitlam. There is a quilt shop in Maple Ridge (Quiltopia) about 45 min. out of Vancouver. One in Ladner on the way in from the airport called The Quilted Bear. One in Surrey called Wineberry Fabrics.... maybe a few other "locals" will chime in with their favourites.... Enjoy your time in our little corner!
