She walked over with a hand full of some plants she had pulled up and asked if I wanted them. She said they kept multiplying each year. I wasn't sure what they were, so I dug a hole and planted them. Now it is 2 1/2 months later and look how pretty :)

that's truly gorgeous. have you found out what kind of flower it is yet?
|
Yes, I too share my perennial flowers with the neighbors. I just hate throwing them in the trash when I have to thin out the perennials that multiply each year.

Very pretty....what is it?

I'm not sure what it is. I'm attaching a picture of the whole plant. Some of the flowers are more feather shaped. I wonder if it is what my Mother use to call "Indian Feathers"?? I'm ready for it to be a little cooler so I can get outside and do some much needed weeding in my flower bed.

I've heard them called "cock's combs", but I'm not positive about that.

This is so beautiful and the deep color is so pretty!

Looks like Cock's combs, but never seen them that big.

We call them Rooster combs here in NC because the top looks like a roosters comb. They dry really well and have a lot of seeds under that bloom. they are really tiny, looks like little black dots, they will come back year after year if you let the seeds fall off.
