Got the best deal on fabric.....Bed in a Bag

I happen to have gone in to a linen store just because it was there and I was hoping to find a nice warm blanket. We keep the thermostat to 59 at night and with my son moved back in and my grandsons here on the weekends we needed an extra blanket. The ones I saw were pretty flimsy so I asked if they had comforters on sale and they did in the bed in a bag. All sizes only $29.00. We don't have a king size bed but that's the size I got and the comforter works great on my son's double bed, the bed is up on risers so the comforter fits more like a bedspread. The wonderful part of this deal is all the stuff that came with it. They gave you shams and pillow cases and a dust ruffle and of course the sheets. Since it looks like our son will be here awhile we'll paint his room and I'll use the sheets to make curtains with. The dust ruffle fabric will be perfect for a valance in the entry way above the doors to the living room. I'm even thinking of making a couple of aprons out of the pillow cases. Granted the fabric isn't superior quality but the warmth of the comforter is well worth the money and the three different prints of the set are very nice, the colors are grey black and white. Anyway, I'm very happy with this unexpected haul.

Sounds like a great deal. Sounds like you need to get busy and make some quilts.

Ditto! My husband would be happy, but I'd NEVER get out of bed at that temperature!

I'm glad you were able to find such a good deal.

My husband has a portable heater in his room so he's o.k. but somehow the rest of us do fine as long as we have enough blankets. The thermostat is set so the heat goes on before we wake up. We could never afford the utility bills if we heated the house all night. A few years ago our electricity was off for three days in the dead of winter which is not like real winter but it was COLLLLLLLLLLD. I wore pajamas and a nightgown, a jacket and gloves, socks and a bandana to bed and just piled on the blankets.

Sounds like a deal... I wanted to make Xmas stocking so I bought flannel sheets set king size with pillow cases. and it was cheaper than flannel by the yard ... Of course everyone got the same print and I have flannel left over ....

That's the temperature in my house during the day :D I turn up the heat downstairs late in the afternoon but in my bedroom it's as cold as it is outside!
