My daughter came home from college tonight--just until tomorrow. She's having lunch with me in my classroom before she heads back to school for summer classes. She's only an hour away though. We're all talked out-and she's resting...now sleeping. Her Physics and Genetics finals were today--and she's done for the semester!!
We got some great pics... thought you'd want to see. I made it sooner than next weekend, huh?

Rachel hadn't met Tucker yet.

This was taken over the weekend--it's what to do with there are too many bugs and you have a short tail. :D

Okay--seriously--it'll be Saturday before there's more.

Wonderful pictures, Karla, and obviously special mother/daughter time!

tlrnhi 05-11-2009 11:58 PM

Great pix! I'm glad you and Rachel had a good time.
Lap horse, huh? LOL
I just love that!

Courtney loves the one of Tucker and Rachel. She says it should be in a photography magazine. Great shot! :)

barnbum 05-12-2009 02:33 AM

Thanks! :D

Terri--that first one is Rachel and Mazie--is that the one Courtney likes? I know I was confusing when I said Rachel hadn't met Tucker--then didn't put a pic of him first. She's with Tucker in the 2nd and 3rd shots. Mazie will have a flaxen mane and tail, Tucker's will be black. That's a good way to tell them apart.

Yes, the first one is the one she likes, where she's leaning down for a kiss. I told her it was Mazie, but she said...NO MOM, IT'S TUCKER! UGH!
Mazie has that face like Rosie...sort of mischiefy. Is that a word?

sandpat 05-12-2009 03:39 AM

Great shots Karla and no...don't wait to post more...I love to look anytime! I thought Rachel looks like you also. And I love your lap babies...you will have the same prob. as DH when he carries the kittens on his head...I keep telling him that they grow up!!

gcathie 05-12-2009 04:04 AM

 :P  8) Just love!!!!

barnbum 05-12-2009 04:05 AM

Terri--Mazie and Rosie are very similar in personality. I remember Rosie acting so much the same. I feel so lucky to be able to keep both! I bet they will be good buddies.

sandpat--I'm very careful to make the hrorses act as horses--Mazie has only flopped into my lap twice--and I let her stay there for Rachel to get a picture  and because Tucker was coming up behind and she worries when he gets close. She could see she has nothing to worry about. She was there maybe 1 minute.

Blessing was a real lap baby--I kept telling the kids to not allow it because when she's 200 lbs it won't be pretty.

tlrnhi 05-12-2009 04:30 AM

I just love ALL the pictures! Just keep them coming!

PrettyKitty 05-12-2009 04:38 AM

I knew you were one smart cookie  ...I bet the kids would only let the big girls/boy do it once  Enjoy them..I always did ours and shame on me because I admit that I did let the babies get away with some things I shouldn't have  They grew up to be well mannered adults though, so it was all ok.

barnbum 05-12-2009 04:22 PM

butterflywing--I'm keeping one.

littlehud 05-12-2009 07:41 PM

MadQuilter 05-12-2009 10:18 PM

Karla,

I am not a jealous or envious person by nature, but when I see the pics of those fur babies I make a (temporary) exception. I wanna be there to give those pets.

OK - over it now - lol. (Don't want to be there for the chores)

Thanks for the pics.

barnbum 05-13-2009 01:15 AM

will you get pregnant again?
Nope--my stallion is now a gelding (not able to sire foals).

I'm going to focus more on community service with them. Mazie will be taking van drives to Quail Summit--the place that buses residents out to my place to have a "horse show"--she'll be going into the fancy place to bring joy to residents. :D The residents will be coming here in July again--there are photos from their first two visits on my website.

I'll be investigating other places to use Mazie as a therapy horse.
Plus, I want to ground drive Jazz and others--Gypsy will be my running buddy, and Rosie my clicker training buddy. Chloe is going to be a pasture ornament and be buddies with everyone. She's good at that. :D

I have 7 horses now, I'd like that to be 4 or 5 by fall.

No more foals--way too stressful in so many ways. I have no regrets.

Justquilting 05-13-2009 03:55 AM

They are just toooooooooooo sweet!! Now I want one.......or two!!
