Quiltingboard Forums - Have You Been Affected By Hydro-fracking? If so, how?

I was wondering if any of you have been negatively impacted by hydro-fracking? There have been many local meetings here trying to get moratoriums and bans put on hydro-fracking. From what I've read and heard about hydro-fracking it sounds like it is very damaging to the environment and those living around areas that have been hydro-fracked. A representative from the Muncy Valley Hydro-frackers or something like that-was at a town meeting recently and he spoke to everyone as if they were in kindergarten. He made everything sound oh so easy, simplified and safe. Never did he mention the toxic chemicals used in the process or acknowledge the accidents and damaging affects you hear and read about. What I want is a "Consumer Reports" version of hydro-fracking- with the honest pros and cons. I don't trust or believe the petroleum reps. I live in the country and I value my clean air and clean well water- I don't want to lose those things. Can any of you please tell me what your experiences have been living in and around areas that have been hydro-fracked? I appreciate any information you can share. Thank you.
