I love the old covered bridges and this was just on our news on tv. So I had to surf online to read all about it and watch the video.

So sad....

How sad, this will never be seen by future generations!! I love the old bridge I walked over so often as a child in Milton, WV. I'll have to check to see what condition it's in these days.

Flood waters are terrible, and often you can see cars and even houses floating down rivers. Terrible loss of lives and property, but lives are far more important that possessions. We're praying for those in the way of this and future storms. And earthquakes all over the earth.

That's so sad.

What a terrible shame.

That is just terrible. When we visited the US in 2009, my only request that I must see were some of the covered bridges in Vermont, we saw three, my daughter navigating the way through the late winter landscape to keep me happy. I feel devastated that one perfect treasure has succumbed to Mother Nature.

Thinking of you all, best wishes from Australia

What a shame!

Vermont is such a beautiful state and I have visited it often. So sad to see what mother nature does.

Just saw this on the morning news. So sad. I am from a county here in Missouri that had three covered bridges until floods in the late 50's now there is only one. Such great history gone. :(

We have lots of covered bridges in Indiana
