we spent the last week at the beach with dh's family. That is the kids and I spent the week with his family. He had to work and didn't come till the last day. Now I love my mil and fil. They are wonderful and have been great to me. One of dh's sisters though is another story. She has no children and that made it rough this week. She thinks they're supposed to act perfect. When you add in the fact that dh and I are very different than the rest of his family it makes for some interesting times. They're more concerned with keeping up with the Jones'es.....especially this sis. So over the course of the week I had two kids in absolute tears over things that happened. To say I was in Mama Bear mode would be putting it mildly. But I knew how much this week meant to my mil so I bit my tongue...really hard a few times. One day I just got up and loaded the younger kids up and took them to a beach further down the road and then a history museum for the day. It gave them a much needed break. it was funny to see though how much the actions of dh's sister changed once he got there. Even he said that she acts different when he's around....she'll push my buttons as much as she can but not his. That's ok.....we've been married 23 years and we're not about to change things now! I did get some quilting done though! It was nice to have that to take my mind off things. And we are all SO glad to be home in our own beds and with the dogs. We've taken the day off school to get the laundry done and the house straightened up though.

lol! that would be. Its not that strange though. Dh is very outspoken and she knows it. And while I would just hush to keep the peace with his family he won't.
