Nifty trick!

Wow, that's amazing! I noticed, though, that his finger changed color while he was doing it. Probably wouldn't want to take too long. I was interested because my mother's wedding ring had to be cut off when her hand swelled up from a bee sting (she was allergic).

How slick is that!! Love it! :)

Mr Stitchnripper recently got into some poison ivy and we tried this method. It didn't work for us. We ended up wrapping his finger in the string and putting oil and ice on his hand and I had him hold his hand above his head. When his finger started to turn blue we unwrapped it and put more oil on it and he wrestled the ring off. It was quite a painful ordeal and I would have had it cut off but he just couldn't do it. I hope none of you need to do this and if you do that the video method works for you

We tried everything to get my wedding ring off before knee surgery. They ended up cutting it off, but the nurses kept trying after they put me out. I told them to just yank it...I wouldn't feel a thing if I was out...but, they ended up cutting in the end.

Our jeweler told us to use Windex and it has always worked for us

Moonwork...never heard of using Windex but I'll certainly keep that in mind. My hands swell frequently.

I had do take a wedding band off because I had machine quilted two large quilts in two weeks. I tried everything I had ever heard of. Finally I thought to use shortening, like using for pie crust. I twisted it off, instead of pulling it off. After I bought another ring two sizes larger, it went back to just being one size too big.

Forgot to mention that we tried windex, WD-40, and some other internet suggestions. For us none of them worked. His finger was in pretty bad shape.
