Was just wondering how old the "oldest" quilting magazine is out there...? Which one came out first?

Maybe Quilters Newsletter?? ( not sure though) but I believe it came out in the late 60's.

I have picked up some from the early-mid 70's :D:D:D

I have one from 1969 and a few from the 70's.

I think I have a few Quilters Newsletters from the late 70s. They're stored away somewhere.

I have a few very old but still use patterns from them from the late 50 & 60s

not sure but i have magazines on my shelves from the late 50's and early 60's...and i know long before that newspapers featured quilting patterns/articles across the country

I wonder when the first ones were ever published...I would love to find some at a yard sale...

I have some for the Kansas city star going back to 1929 in the clip and save section

I have some real oldies... one called "Grandmother's Patchwork Quilt Designs" 1931, another called " Grandmother's Authentic Early American Patchwork Quilts" 1932 and "Quilt Patterns Patchwork and Applique" 1928. These are all very thin, very well used magazines given to me by a relative on my husband's side, when she was in her 80's.

I have a old McCalls that was my Moms from 1965 she said it was a special mag that you got if you had a subscrition to thier regular mag.

My hubby bought a huge box of quilt magazines as a gift. LOVED it! Anyway there is a McCalls Block Encyclopedia from 1962 in the box. LOL It's like a coloring book for quilt addicts and I just love it. :)

The oldest I have is probably three years old. I don't keep them much longer than that but sometimes I find one at a yard sale that is years old so I'll buy it for a dime. I try not to keep a big stack of magazines. They all seem to repeat themselves every couple of years.
