How to stabilize vintage Barbie doll patterns

A friend asked me to post this question to all you experts. She has a large amount of vintage Barbie doll pattersns that gave been excessively loved (very worn) and wanted to know your ideas on how to stabilize the pattern pieces. My suggestion was iron on stabilizer or contact paper. Any other suggestions?

Lightweight iron on interfaciing will work if she wants to use to the patterns. She'll need a pressing sheet used for fusibles to keep the interfacing from sticking to the iron around the tiny pieces.

you can iron the pieces to the shiny side of freezer paper. This works great to make them useable multiple times.
