I am finding it very odd right now. I got up this morning and all of the snow is almost gone. What is going on here? The last day of December and no snow???

I don't know?????

raptureready 12-31-2010 05:38 AM

Ours in Illinois is almost gone too. It's okay by me, we had snow for Christmas so I'm done with it, it can stay away now. Last night at 10:30 it was 49 degrees here. It's supposed to be really warm today then drop to high 20's or very low 30's tomorrow.

Midwestmary 12-31-2010 05:41 AM

The ground is bare here in Iowa too....yuck!

kathyd 12-31-2010 05:41 AM

I live in Illinois (near St. Louis, MO) we had beautiful snow on Christmas. Woke up yesterday and it was all gone also. Today we are to have a high in the 60's possible thunderstorms and only highs in the 30's tomorrow. Go figure??? Nothing like the weather in the midwest...always changing.

Charleen DiSante 12-31-2010 05:53 AM

I can tell you where it is: right in my back yard in southern Massachusetts. There is still a foot left here but it's supposed to go up to about 50 today so I may have to say bye-bye to it after today.

quiltinghere 12-31-2010 05:56 AM

Raining and THUNDERING outside right now - snow is all gone - wooohooo!

High 50s today and low 20's tomorrow. gotta love it I guess

sandyo 12-31-2010 06:02 AM

That is what I said when I got up this morn. It is not gone but piles are much smaller.

AlwaysQuilting 12-31-2010 06:05 AM

Who cares??? :)
It's gone where I am too. But I know more is around the corner.

Norene B 12-31-2010 06:05 AM

Just wait, another storm is blasting across SD with extreme cold, winds. It is absolutely yucky out. We are -2 with windchill of -17 and snow is blowing around.

thequiltmama 12-31-2010 06:15 AM

yuck.

Yes I hope January brings it back! Ours is almost gone too. It looks so depressing outside this morning! I am ready for a good one!

S D G 12-31-2010 06:37 AM

We live in So.Ea. In. and our yard look like yours. Where did our snow go, I miss it.

We got about 6 inches and some of it is still here. It is my hope that this was the "BIG ONE" for the winter. With Gus still needing to be walked on leash about 20 times a day I am fine with no snow. I usually love winter and snow but this year no....

Jill 12-31-2010 06:51 AM

The snow is gone in central Ohio, too and that's just fine with me. A white Christmas was lovely, but then I'm ready for spring. The green/brown grass looks wonderful to me.

sueisallaboutquilts 12-31-2010 07:03 AM

Same here in Ohio.

That's what it is like here! I will not be going out today!!!

kathyd 12-31-2010 07:53 AM

Decided it was time to air out the house. Turned off the furnace and opened a few windows!!!!

suebee 12-31-2010 08:26 AM

LOL, I think it went to Phoenix!! we actually had snow in parts of the valley yesterday. Im in n/e Mesa and couldnt believe my eyes. It never snows in the valley. crazy!!

Margie 12-31-2010 08:31 AM

Looks about the same here and let me tell you...it is fine with me! I hate snow and winter and after last winter in PA, I had enough snow to last me a lifetime. I wouldnt care if it NEVER snowed again. White Christmas just means bad roads, problems traveling and worrying about the safety of loved ones. Bring on green grass, trees and flowers lol

irishrose 12-31-2010 08:37 AM

Try Northwestern Lower MI. I still have at least 8 to 12 inches on the ground, but with a warm rain coming down, it will go fast. We were up to several feet - that 20 inch snowfall left plenty behind. I have complete confidence that it will return, though we didn't get much last year in January and February.

dotcomdtcm 12-31-2010 08:39 AM

We still have piles of snow- now dirty, no garbage pick up. Many problems with plowing, airports backlogged, yuck! It is too bad the beauty of the storm does not last.

frugalfabrics 12-31-2010 08:54 AM

I hope that snowy mess blows away from Michigan...I'm kinda liking the warm weather right now.

I went and ran errands this morning in a t-shirt...got to leave the coat and sweatshirt behind!

oldswimmer 12-31-2010 08:56 AM

We are just getting our first real snow here. It has been so warm this winter here....

raedar63 12-31-2010 09:56 AM

Same for Oh, mud mud mud and rain tomorrow....

amma 12-31-2010 10:10 AM

It traveled everywhere else LOL

thequilterslink 12-31-2010 10:46 AM

we still have a lot of it here in Pa. My kids are all in Michigan, they are happy to not have any.

mygirl66 12-31-2010 11:51 AM

Im in Michigan too! Im glad our snow is gone & its almost 50 degrees out there right now! If the snow never came back ,it wouldnt hurt my feelings in the least!

Don't send it this way!!!!!!! Although, it wouldn't surprise me if the snow and cold returned here right after I return to school on Monday after being on Christmas vacation!!

JAGSD 12-31-2010 01:35 PM

You can have all of ours.
Woke up this morning to -8 with -30 windchills. It has warmed up to a whole -4 this afternoon. we received about 9 inches of snow here west of Piedmont, SD yesterday and this morning. We started the stove in the shop to warm up the rabbits. Please Bring Warmth and Sunshine.........lol

Missysgottohelp 12-31-2010 06:24 PM

IT's here in Nebraska. LOL. Been snowing here all day

Celeste 12-31-2010 08:28 PM

We don't have any snow here either. (SF South bay area). LOL

dewie45 01-01-2011 03:27 AM

Last night's storm pretty much cleared our area of any remaining snow. Might be a few small piles of 'snirt' left in store parking lots.

mic-pa 01-01-2011 03:33 AM

No snow here, even missed the big one that hit NYCity and thats fine with me. But we do need moister,. Supposed to rain today and temps in the 50"s

Aunt Retta 01-01-2011 03:35 AM

It went to Utah! We did not have snow for Christmas, which is ok with me. We have had too much snow this year. Last year we had to have our snow removal guy come twice. This year it has been so many times I can't remember. We are on our second snow fall of more than 18 inches. I would love to send it all to some of you that are missing it!

watterstide 01-01-2011 04:41 AM

it feels like 50 outside, i am in taylor,mi.

i love it, but it is not healthy for us and the plants and trees!

It came to North GA where we had our 1st white Christmas since 1892! Also it was my newest grandson's 1st Christmas so quite a memoriable one.

Rainybug 01-01-2011 04:53 AM

OK, now I am confused!!!
Three years ago I moved to the UP of MI. Specifically to CHRISTMAS! Left Virginia Beach, VA because I don't like the heat, humidity and crummy winters WITHOUT snow. Came back to VA on the 5th of Dec. for the holidays with friends and family.
Guess what..it SNOWED here!
And they still have snow on the ground, yet now I'm hearing that MI has no snow.....just re name me "Fifty + and confused"
