Yesterday I was at a picnic and was taking my son to the little park the setting is such that the only way to get to the field is to go up a huge hill. So I told my son we are going to go up the smalllest hill he protested. So as we started up the hill I feel this horrible pain I look down and here is a bee stuck to my wrist. Thank God it did not get my son. I ran back to my husband I was in tears I felt like a big baby. But it hurt. I now join the ranks of those that are extremely allergic to bees. Thankfully there was a doctor and an EMT at the picnic. I used to make fun of my Be prepared husband. He brought our first aid kit the size of a huge tackle box. It had everything the EMT needed! Oh and my son who protested the route I took calmly said see mommy if we had taken my way this wouldnt have happened! Oh you just have to love that little man! attatching picture just for fun.

My husband laughs at me every time I call a yellow jacket a bee. Yellow jackets are really hornets but to be honest, when I see an insect buzzing around me and they have yellow on them, I don't stop to see if they're bee or hornet; I get the fly swatter!! Once on vacation in NY state, I stepped on a hornet's nest and got stung over 10 times. Couldn't wear my shoes for a while and was in pain but no allergic reaction. Baking soda paste works for the itching and, of course benadryl. Hope you're better!

Ouch! You poor dear. I feel bad for you as I know these hurt! Take Care. {{{{{Hugs}}}}}

At least you didn't swell up like I do. My hand ended up looking like one of those surgical gloves blown up like a balloon...

My daughter took this pic about 5 mins after it happened. My whole arm swelled. kinda scared me I have never reacted. I know get to go and get an epi pen. Yeah me! I have never seen my husband panic before. It was kinda nice to see how much he loved me :)

Sorry about your sting, it looks really painful. However, I'm with your husband, I'm a "be prepared" person too. I used to vacation with friends every year and I alway had a huge First Aid kit that had to be easily accessible. They laughed, joked and even got aggravated at me because I was so obsessive about it until the day it was needed.
Yeah, I'm the person that right before all three cars were ready to go handed each driver a sandwich bag full of folded Walmart bags for trash, another with bandaids, antibacterial wipes, a small bottle of Ibuprophen, and triple antibiotic ointment, etc. |
That sting looks bad. I 'm glad there were people there to help.

Well the stupid sting cost me my surger for tomorrow!!! I have waited for 3 months to get my pain pump and well now have to wait till it goes away and no infections turn up!!!! UGHHHHH!
