At this time of year, I get busy embroidering linen towels for holiday gifts. Embroidery Library.com and Sudberry House have wonderful and reasonably priced designs.

Decorative linen towel (my daughters hang them on the oven door handle)

Really cute.
I fell in love with machine embroidery also.
My hubby bought mine several years ago for me and I am
still amazed as it sews out designs. I usually do designs for baby/crib quilts.

Those will make great gifts. how do you get your embroidery so smooth with no puckers around the design?? I have a Bernina 180 E and am still learning.

I love mine.

Now to find a good inexpensive easy to use program for it.

I tried Embirds free trial, I didn't like how it took over. Every time I opened a picture, Embird was there like a bad habit.

When I embroider something like the linen towel, I do not hoop the linen. I use Stabil-Stick tear away stabilizer and hoop the stabilizer only. It is really sticky and will hold the linen towel perfectly in place. I used to hoop both the towel and the stabilizer and got puckers, so I tried this method and it works every time without any puckers or bumps.

I also use Mary Ellen's Best Press for all my machine embroidery. There is a fabric store in Northern VA that sells it for $5 a bottle.

Take a look at www.sandscomputing.com I love their products and the prices are reasonable. You can trial them for 30 days to see if you can work with them.

I love the cross stitched bear. Where would I get the pattern for it please. I am getting a Brother Embroidery machine in December and if I can get it to be put on the card I can do some for my GG.

I just received my embroidery machine - I was so excited to get it - went to try it out - no power cord :( I have to order one, but need to get paid first. They say patience is a virtue, don't they?

Those are so cute! Yesterday I spent the day on my embroidery machine, got so tired of the quilt I was working on so I made a wall hanging for my moms beauty shop(copied the pattern from a pic I seen online). It was a nice change of pace.

With my Janome 8000 i used to do towels and hand towel as sets for friends adding a co-ordinated washer to make a set. I miss having it, it died one day a few years ago, but I am excited about this new machine so I a learning all about it before I actually get it.

Great job!

I know how you feel about getting tired of working on a particular quilt sometimes. The embroidering is a good escape. The fun sometimes is running the embroidery machine and working on piecing on another. I really like your quilt!

The cross stitched bear is by Sudberry House. All of their things are cross stitch for the machine. Google machinecrossstitch.com and you will find their site. It is terrific and whoever does their digitizing is amazing.
