I got a steam mop (I asked for it) for Christmas but the darn head won't snap on. Are they supposed to?

Anyway, DH said I could return it (I never return any gifts) so I need to know what kind I should get that the head stays on.

Thanks

Dawn, It's hard to say w/o knowing what kind of steam mop you have. Last year I bought a "Sharp Deluxe Steam Mop" (various size/shaped mops & extra heads, which you definitely want) & LOVE it for quick cleaning :XD: -- we have tiles floors thru-out the house w/ area rugs in main areas. For me, it doesn't do full-duty, like a regular mopping does (once/month), but it's nice in-between full mopping. I know some people would use it full-time. It's nice that you can either rinse it out by hand or throw it in the wash. I generally don't put them in the washer because I use liquid fabric softener -- it's not good for cleaning cloths, so I wash cleaning things separately. Best of luck!

A few months ago my friend got a shark steam cleaner, she really likes it for her tile floors..

I have the Enviro Steamer. You can read reviews for any steamer on amazon. Here's the link to the Enviro:

Someone has very nicely provided pix on amazon to a potential problem with the Enviro. I like mine but I would read the reviews on a variety of brands before purchasing. Good luck.

If it's a Shark steam mop, perhaps you are inserting the head backwards. If it does not click on, turn the head 180 degrees & try again.

Thank you all for you imput. I have a Bionaire and it has one mop head that is triangle shape, that's it and it very hard to get on the thing. grrrr!

Dawn, I don't much about the Enviro, but with only one head & presumably only one removable cover(?), I think I'd take it back & apply the money towards another brand that gives you more options. If you'd like a link for a deal on Sharp products, let me know; I get regular mailings for special offers & am sure I have one til the end of the month. You can always do a Google Search & it should take you to the Sharp company site. I'm new to this site & not used to how all this works (frequency, notifications, etc). I'm a quilter (machine piece & hand quilt w/ a weekly group), machine embroiderer & sometimes do home decor projects & alterations (more & more reluctant!).

I bought the Shark steam mop - the cheapest one for about 60 dollars. I have a floating laminate floor and absolutely love it. I use it on my ceramic kitchen floor daily and only use the heavy duty hand mob once every two weeks. Its so quick, light and easy to use.

Sorry, Dawn, I had a typo -- mine is a Shark, not a Sharp.

I have a Shark and although it works ok, it does not get right up to the baseboards as well as I'd like. I usually sweep the floor, then on my hands and knees clean around the edges of the floor and then use the Shark for the larger areas of the floor. In other words, I don't use it too much, too much trouble!
