I have an opportunity to sell my products at an ice scating event. I know very little about ice skating, other then what I see on TV occassionally.
Any suggestions of things I can make that would interest ice skaters would be appreciate. My first thoughts lap quilts, totes, cell phone caddies, oragami purses, sheer twirl skirts for little kids, fleece hats & matching scarves, possibly fleece mittens, key rings, coin purses. Any help is much appreciated. |
I would think quilts and totes made with skating fabric would be a big hit.

If it's a craft fair ... I'd check as to what price range of goods have been successful at selling before. It'd be nice to do a bunch of quilts, though, if they are looking for under $5 items?
Anything that has skates! I was at a skating regional competition once that had vendors ... and the original skating crafts were selling like hotcakes, because of course, not somethng so unique they cannot find in other places easily. |
maybe some items with a skate applique?

Maybe some little stuffed skates with magnets on the back for the fridge? You'd have to find a cute small pattern that could be stuffed.

I made "dress bags", to fit over their outfits. You can go really simple and use a pillowcase type with a slit in the top to fit over the hanger. Or you can sew the bottom together and add a zipper so things won't fall out. They love sparkly fabrics or skating prints.

You can use paper clips to look like the blades.

How about cushions to sit on? Sorta like stadium cushions? Would be great for parents that sit for a long time watching their skaters....just saying....

Leg warmers
Tote bags Hats Gloves with missing finger tips |
Skate guard covers...they're usually terry cloth or something absorbant that skaters put over the blades on their skates to protect them and also absorb any excess ice to prevent rust.
