I can't even wrap that sari about in my head... There is no way I could have done ANY of that work even before I had arthritis!!!! What detail. I won't even go into the aspects of the woman's figure. Also won't let DH see it! Beautiful work.

Amazing...Beautiful............you are SO Very Talented!! Curious though how the beads are put on the material and do you use the same type of material in each one that you make?

Beautifully done! I'm guessing the beads are individually sewn by hand onto the silk?

damaquilts 01-11-2012 07:48 AM

WOW! The work is most impressive! Wearing that would certainly make you feel feminine. It sure beats sweat pants and a tee shirt.

Very time consuming, and beautiful work!

Tink's Mom 01-11-2012 01:54 PM

beautiful work! I used to use some of the heavily embroidered sari's when I was working for a designer in the 80's. We had to cut out the huge flower designs and bond to an outfit or a jacket. After bonding, I had to applique the designs, then the designer beaded them.

nativetexan 01-11-2012 03:46 PM

for appreciation- you got it! if your work matches that photo, they must be lovely indeed!!

Where I live we have a lot of East Indian people and stores. I asked once if I could buy one my size (3x). They said yes but I always wonder if people would think a white person in an sari is very weird.
Your work is gorgeous.

larken 01-12-2012 05:08 AM

I am married 37 years to a fellow from India. I have seen those sairs made in India. Most offten by very young kids working long hours for very little money. They are 8 yards long and done on a low reqtangular frame.
