Ironing help needed.

I have a pair of pants that after I washed and dryed them one time they wrinkled so bad. My bright Idea was to iron them. They are 60% cotton and 40 % polyester. After trying to iron them on my cotton setting. They are still wrinkled. Any suggestions? My iron will go to a linen setting. It is also has steam. Any suggestions would be helpfull. Thanks Jen

Try dampening them and press with a pressing cloth. Failing that I would maybe spray with starch and press with steam.

Next time you or husband) take nice hot shower hang them in the bathroom while its going and let the steam work its magic and then go and iron them rightway. I had to do this to all the pants, shirts, and vests for a wedding this past year. It worked geat for me.

Send them to the dry cleaners and tell them to press them, no cleaning necessary, I have a pair that has to go and get professionally pressed every other washing. Lousy fabric! But I love the cut and style of the slacks.

Downy makes a "Wrinkle Release" spray that I've used. You spray the fabric and then pull and tug the clothing item into shape and the wrinkles pretty much disappear. Easier than ironing (which I do not do any more) for the occasional wrinkles in my life.

Thanks so much. I will try each one to see what works the best.

I never dry outer clothing completely in the dryer. After a few minutes, I take them out and hang them on hangers to dry. Some items need no ironing and others require minimal ironing. This works great for me because I hate wrinkles. If something accidentally stays in the dryer too long and comes out too wrinkled, I rewash it and start over. Some wrinkles are too hard to iron out. :)
