Ah yes, the money pit. I keep telling my husband I just can't keep throwing money down the cat hole.. If the cat wasn't so sweet I would try to relocate him. People laugh when I tell them that I can open the back door, whistle and the cat (Iggy) comes running through the woods.

Lynn, I do love both my cat and the my boxer, aka the money pit. Romeo, the cat, is mostly okay without the meds but Buddy, the boxer, wouldn't be comfortable or relatively pain-free and walking without his pain and arthritis medicines. I call him the money pit because every vet visit is expensive and they are monthly or twice per month but we wouldn't think of depriving him. BTW: the vet does understand why we call him the money pit because she also has a geriatric boxer who's a money pit.

My 'money pit' was my Lhasa Apso, Brandi. During the last three years of her life she developed chronic dry eye. She saw an animal opthamologist every three months, was medicated with several different meds, 3-4 times daily. I even made a chart so I could keep track of what and when. She cost me hundreds of dollars each month but she was my baby and when she developed cancer for the second time, it was finally time to say goodbye. I still miss her - but ... I have her daughter and she is quite the nut (13 1/2 years old now) and I love her dearly. I definitely dread the day I will have to say goodbye to her.

I told my husband that my next dog would be a rescue dog - not sure what size/breed - but I know there will be another dog in my life. My husband says no more, I told him I would miss him - lol

Good luck with your 'baby'. Maybe once your new addition knows they are in a 'forever' home, things will calm down.

We have a Westie who is itchy, never feed lamb. He is on fish or chicken, regular baths in Malusab. No titbits.

I keep saying the next pet will have to outlive me. I just can't take it when it's time for them to go.
