Floorcloths have caught my fancy. My MIL had a beautiful one that she painted but, during the McKinney outing yesterday, I ran across some done with quilting fabric. I didn't get a chance to discuss it with the store but I did go directly to my good friend Mr. Google and he's pointed me in a comfortable direction.

Oh well, they will look so dramatic matching my window coverings, a cute one for under the pet food bowls.

Need I say more other than this looks like something that I just must do?

What is a floorcloth ? Probably just what it sounds like right ?

Yep, just like a rug but not absorbent.

How do you make a floor cloth out of quilting fabric practical? I've painted canvas floor cloths and they had many coats of varnish on them to make them so that you could wipe off the dirt, so that they would lay flat, etc.

I don't have much yet. I did find a book on Amazon. You would have to laminate the fabric to the backing and then seal. The book is Floorquilts!: Fabric Decoupaged Floorcloths--No-Sew Fun.

That will take a very large laminate machine. If you were going to seal the fabric, maybe you could glue or decoupage the fabric to the backing instead of having it laminated. Do you know what is used as a backing?

They used Roc-Lon Multi Purpose Fabric.
