And I am proud to say that my father was there.

My FIL was on an LST in the Pacific fleet during the war and was out on a mission when Pearl was bombed. But he was there the week before to resupply the ship.

When I see what our country has become after the sacrifices that our boys made it makes me sick. And with our guys in the middle east now I hope everyone gives them the respect that they deserve.

I want to thank your father for his service to our nation during World War II and the decades following.
We owe so much of our capabilities to these men and women who did what had to be done to make America great.
They understood that America had to persevere ... it is the only hope for a world who desires freedom to be the best it can be, without some politician making every decision for other humans.
My prayer for our nation in these days is that more Americans understand that the World War II generations and those who came before them didn't pass the "can do" gene down through the generations ... it is a desire we must personally cultivate in ourselves while encouraging it in others.
After all, isn't that exactly what America did during the Great Wars? When we deny our heritage by refusing to stand for right, we will squander the best hope for a free world.

My Father was in the navy and on a ship not far from Pearl Harbor, I also had numerous uncles serving then also.

My father was studying for college exams when the announcement of the bombing of Pearl Harbor was broadcast. He graduated soon after, and went directly into the Army. He served in the ETO.

I add my thanks to all those who have served, and are serving now in the military. It is because of you that the United States are still free.

We must never forget this date or what happened. We must never forget 9/11. I'm honored to have so many relatives who have served......and think of them all on days like today. I am thankful for my freedoms.

My Dad was in the Army during WWII stationed as an MP in a train depot in Denver. His brother was in the Navy at the same time. My FIL served in the Army during WWII also. My uncle from my mother's side of the family was killed in Germany, other Uncle was in the Army during WWII. Two BIL's were in the Army, one in Korean War, one in Germany during 50's. My 2nd husband was in Vietnam in Army, wounded two times, died at age 48 of PTSD..high blood pressure/heart surgeries/heart attack. One nephew was in AF, then reserves for 20 yrs. Since 9/11 One great nephew in Marines 3 tours to Iraq, now in private service. His brother in Army special intelligence, now out. One other nephew in Coast Guard still serving in Sitka Alaska.
