My DDIL has the Nook. She bought the Kindle and returned 3 days later and bought the Nook. She says Barnes & Noble offer more at less money for the Nook and its like reading a page out of book. She loves it.

We have the Kindle..the first version and love it. We did have a problem with the screen almost two years after purchase, but we had bought the insurance and the Kindle was replaced with the same model. Otherwise its been great. Love the convenience. At first I hated not holding a real book..but u will get over that after awhile lol

I have a Nook and I love it. I travel every week and no longer have to worry about something to read. When I finish something or don't feel like reading something I've already started, I have options without going into a bookstore at an airport.

I did a lot of research on e-readers and the two that I narrowed it down to were the Kindle and the Nook. I chose the Nook because it includes functionality that allows you to borrow e-books from your local library (the Kindle doesn't provide this option). It also has a replaceable battery (for that time in the future when it no longer will hold a charge) and it has unlimited storage because it has a micro-sd slot.

Hope that helps.

I have a Kindle and I love it. The best thing for me is being able to purchase new books from anywhere in the US. I spend a lot of my time sitting on ballfields (my daughter plays for a travel team) and I'm always finishing a book sometime during a 12 hour ball day. With the Kindle, I can go online to the Amazon store and order a new book right there.

I just got the new kindle for $139. I had waited until the price came down, so when it did I took the chance and ordered it.

I have found that I like it more than I thought I would! I read a lot of fiction and spiritual/new age thinking books like from Eckert Tolle and Brian Weiss. I really enjoy having access to those books wherever I am, whithout having to remember to bring the books with me. With the spiritual books, having read them once I still like to go back and read certain sections for more thought and contemplation, and if I wanted to do that with paper books, I'd be carrying a big stack of books with me wherever I go.

I've been able to find fiction books for under $3 that are pretty interesting, and by new authors I probably wouldn't have read otherwise. My favorite fiction authors are still pretty high for current books on the kindle, so I haven't really ordered any of them yet.

And, being a quilter, I think I have a predisposition toward gadgets anyway, and the kindle is a great gadget!

only thing I know from my daughter that you should look for one with a screen that eliminates glare especially if you like to read outside in the sun. DD is an avid reader and said that there is nothing like having a good book and taking it out to read and feeling the pages and holding it in anticipation of the next page. she tried kindle but went back to good ole fashioned books. she also like to read some 3 or 4 times more if they are good. Thus numerous book shelves filled up

I have a kindle (the large one) and I love it no more lugging books around when we travel and I love the ease of downloading books where ever I am
