I will have to look at that some other time. It seems confusing. Have you seen the tutes on toothbrush rugs. That seems to be quicker.

Last summer during our family reunion, the gals took a class for locker hooking and I made a rug on a road trip last fall. It's really fun and I used 8 yards of scraps. Didn't make a dent in my stash tho!!!

I love Locker Hooking! I just came across a rug that I started and never finished this past week. I have tried the toothbrush rugs and just couldn't get the hang of it!

I made 12 nice large placemats with locker hooking and countless hot pads..some gifts and some I kept...I love it and they hold up so nicely and now I have taught about 12 of my neighbors how to make them also

Looking good! Love the fabrics you are using. At first I thought it was a batik!

I would love to see some pictures of your projects. I am really enjoying locker hooking an it a great way to get rid of some fabric that I will not be using in other projects.

I finished...that was alot of fun. Great use of left over scraps.

I agree this is prefect for road trips. the mesh keeps the project in shape. You only need the 1 1/2 inch strips so you can just stick them in a bag. I also sewed a bunch of strips together and then cut into stips..Yah...works great. You can sew all instead of cutting the holes and slipping them though to make the strips longer. I did both and both look the same.

Another rug in the making...this is really a great way to use up left over strips...it does take a lot of fabric. I brought my cat to the vet and well sitting there waiting...was able to work on this. Quick and Easy.

If you get into doing bigger rugs or what to use burlap you will want to use a frame. My mom had a rug hooking frame that she no longer uses. I went to Lowes and bought carpet gripers - 3 long pieces of wood with nails sticking out of it...then I bought velcro strips and for under 10.00 it made the perfect locker hooking frame. I just place my rug onto the frame. No clips or rolling. It works great and holds my piece nice and tight.
