I live east of Williston in the Kenmare area. I am 30 miles from Stanley to the NE. We have lots of jobs in the area but not much for the housing situation. Williston is booming and if you are looking for a house, they have quite a few but also the price is matching the higher wages for the oil workers.

No he does not need to buy a house. He would be leaving his wife and son, and MIL, behind in Idaho to take on a job that pays a decent wage. His family is going to discuss the situation this weekend. They are upsidedown on their mortgage and with both of them working they only have enough money to pay the mortgage, utility bills and gas with a little left over for food. He is in a dead end job with no pay increases expected. He has some friends who obtained jobs in that area. We have a travel trailer he can live in but I am worried about the cold winter coming. we have some oilfield people who have been living in travel trailers the past couple of years. they really insulate them and seem to be able to live in them. the rents are really sky high for apt. some people are renting houses out with several people living in them and charging as much as $1000 each per month. You would have to have a place to park a travel trailer.
