Yesterday I was going to take a trip to the Niagara Falls area (2 hours away from me) to pick up a Singer 301A that I had bought for $40 dollars...included in this price was the machine, the stool, the cabinet AND a really neat (to me) bobbin cabinet...all he wanted was $40...so I couldn't pass it up...
So...Friday night I thought that since I was going to be in the area I would check and see if there were any ads on Kijiji for neat stuff...I found a 1961 Singer Fetherweight 221 advertised for $200...when I called about it the lady said she wanted $100..so I agreed to go and see it...of course I bought it...I also found an ad for an antique sideboard and hutch and 2 chairs for a grant total of $100, which my husband is picking up tomorrow and he will refinish them...I love them...

the best news... I get home and check out the serial no. on my featherweight and it is not a 1961 but indeed a 1958...my birthyear...and a VERY DIFFICULT year to find featherweights so I had given up on that...I was a happy lady last night....

If anyone has any info about that little bobbin cabinet..or can tell me who made it or if you have a similar one I would really like to know how old it is etc..there is no name on it or any other info...

Ohhhh I'm drooling--over the sideboard and table. Sorry, just don't have that much interest in old sewing machines, but oh!! that sideboard!! You got some really great deals and there seem to be a lot of people out there who do not realize what they actually have. Lucky for us!
